I’m Helen and I’m a pen-toting, note pad-scrawling, computer-tapping wannabe hack.

Blessed with intellectual curiosity (nosiness) and a desire to spark debate (stir?) journalism seemed an obvious career choice.

Fresh from university and post grad studies, let me share with you my first tentative steps into the world of print/online media.

Enjoyed reading through your posts – great site! Which University did you go to and to study what? 🙂

Glad you like the site 🙂 I went to Hull Uni and studied British Politics & Legislative Studies. What about you? I’ve always enjoyed writing, and I’m hoping to combine the two – politics and writing – in the future.

Oh right, what is Legislative Studies? Never heard of that before! Yes, that does sound interesting! I studied English Literature, Language and Journalism at Hertfordshire! I also work as a Copywriter, so it’s all writing writing writing! Did you enjoy your post grad?

I was tempted, but never really got round to it!

Learning about parliaments here in the UK, the EU and America. Sounds a bit geeky (and it may well just be) but it was certainly interesting. Blimey, so you have a triple whammy of a degree – nice one 😉

I really enjoyed my post-grad, I did a diploma in multi-media journalism (NCTJ) and it’s really got me chomping at the bit and wanting to get a writing job! Where do you copywrite?

Ohh right, no that does sound interesting. I studied a bit of Law and Ethics in my Journalism course, so do like a bit of that! Haha, thanks! I would say it’s more about being completely indecisive!

Oh yes, I know that. A few of my friends have done that and have enjoyed it. Well, that’s good, it’s a tough business out there so I wish you the best of luck!

I copywrite for a financial firm in North London! I also freelance for a tea compan. (Obviously as well as Limebird) So, a bit of everything really!

Sorry I’ve only just seen your reply – so you did a three-strand degree and now do three jobs, crikey!

Liking the limebird blog btw, very interesting, nice work 🙂

That’s no problem 🙂 The three strand degree was the same as a single/double one, just more variety! haha

Also, well, only one job really (and a half for the freelancing). I wouldn’t call Limebird a job though, it’s way too fun for that!
